Walk Safely to School Day

Now in its 26th year, National Walk Safely to School Day is an annual event when all Primary School children will be encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.

Hornsby Council is supporting Walk Safely to School Day on Friday 16 May 2025 by offering Hornsby primary schools holding an event with reflective bag tags.

Primary schools are required to register for Hornsby Shire Council’s promotion by Wednesday 14 May 2025.

Note: This promotion is open to primary schools within the Hornsby Local Government Area only.

Primary schools holding an event on Walk Safely to School Day may submit an order and these will be assessed by Council’s Road Safety Officer. Stock is limited and colours are selected at random.
