Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles are a key component in the transition to zero emissions transport and communities. Supporting electric vehicle charging stations is one way that Council can help enable electric vehicle (EV) uptake. Council adopted an Electric Vehicle Charging Stations on Public Land Policy in April 2020, to:
- Support the community in reducing carbon emissions
- Provide EV charging infrastructure for residents who don’t have access to off-street parking for home charging
- Increase visitation to town centre’s and retail hubs to improve economic development and tourism
- Alleviate range anxiety due to lack of EV charging infrastructure
A number of Electric Vehicle charging stations are available in retail locations across Hornsby LGA:
- Cherrybrook Village shopping centre, 41-47 Shepherds Dr, Cherrybrook
- Pennant Hills Market Place, 4-10 Hillcrest Rd, Pennant Hills
- McDonalds Restaurant Dural, 823 Old Northern Rd, Dural
