Benefits of Storytime

What will my child get from Storytime?

An introduction to a wide range of books and stories, as well as chance to socialise with other children and an opportunity to develop motor and language skills.

How can we get the most out of Storytime?

  • Please arrive on time so that your child does not miss any of the session;
  • For privacy reasons, please do not take photos or videos.
  • Listen to the stories with your child;
  • Encourage your child to participate in the activities;
  • If your child becomes restless, upset or excessively noisy, please feel free to leave the session until your child has settled.

Introduces babies and toddlers to the world of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays.

Due to COVID-19, our Bubs 'N Books storytime sessions are currently unavailable.

A vibrant half hour of stories, action songs and movement.

Due to COVID-19, our Toddler Tales sessions are currently unavailable.

Our storytelling team are thrilled to announce that we are returning to in-person Storytime during Term One

Storytime is the perfect way to give your pre-schooler an introduction to a wide range of books and stories, as well as the chance to socialise with other children and an opportunity to develop motor and language skills.

Please note that COVID-19 restrictions will be in place and may change throughout the term.

Current restrictions require:

  • All participants must book a ticket. Bookings will open 24 hours before the session starts.
  • Only one parent/guardian per child may attend the session. Parents/guardians do not need to book a ticket for themselves, only for each child attending.
  • Parents/guardians over the age of 16 must wear a mask and show proof of vaccination.
  • Craft activities will be provided, but are to be taken home to complete.

Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.

Hornsby Library Storytime

Time: Tuesdays, 10am
Location: Hornsby Central Library Children’s Corner
Dates: Tuesday 19 July - Tuesday 20 September

Bookings are essential and will open 24 hours before the program starts, tickets are strictly limited.

Pennant Hills Library Storytime

Time: Wednesdays, 10am
Location: Pennant Hills Library, Intermediate Hall (Downstairs)
Dates: Wednesday 20 July – Wednesday 21 September

Berowra Library Storytime

Time: Fridays, 10.30am
Location: Berowra Library, Balcony Room
Dates: Friday 22 July – Friday 23 September

Bookings are not required for Berowra Library Storytime.

Bring your pre-schooler along and enjoy stories and rhymes in Chinese/English and Korean/English followed by a fun craft activity.
