What Waste and Recycling Services do I receive?

Hornsby Shire Council’s Standard: Level of Waste and Recycling service is provided on dwelling type.

One 140L red lid garbage bin, collected once a week
One 240L yellow lid recycling bin, collected once a fortnight
One 240L green lid waste bin, collected once fortnight (collected alternate week to yellow lid recycling bin)
Scheduled bulky waste collection, twice yearly (maximum 3 cubic metres)
Booked on-call user pays bulky waste collections available for up to three (3) cubic metres per booking. Book here or call the Waste Hotline on 13 70 30 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

240L or 660L garbage bins, collected twice a week
240L recycling bins, collected weekly
All unit and apartment complexes are entitled to two 240L green lid waste bins for property maintenance, presented to the kerbside and collected once a fortnight
Monthly scheduled bulky waste collection on the third week of each month (a maximum of five (5) cubic metres per complex).

660L or 1100L garbage bins, collected three times a week
240L recycling bins, collected twice a week
All apartment complexes are entitled to two 240L green lid waste bins for property maintenance, presented to the kerbside and collected once a fortnight
Booked on-call user pays bulky waste collections available for up to 5 cubic metres per complex, per booking. Bookings can only be made by an authorised strata representative able to enter into service agreements for the property. Please call the Waste Hotline on 13 70 30 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Individual residents must contact their Strata Manager to enquire about the next booked bulky was collection at your complex. Strata can access resident advisory resources on Council’s website.
