Hornsby Library Room Hire - Conditions of Hire

  1. The Library reserves the right to accept or refuse any or all applications for hire.
  2. Set-up of the Meeting Room is the responsibility of the hirer.
  3. Facilities must be left in a clean and tidy condition; otherwise additional fees will be charged.
  4. Hirer to supply all consumables and cutlery, i.e. refreshments, cups, whiteboard pens, etc. Storage facilities are not available.
  5. Payments can be made through the Council website www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au upon issue of an invoice. Payments by cash or cheque can be made at the Customer Service Desk before the meeting.
  6. Bookings cancelled less than seven (7) days in advance will be charged the full hire fee.
  7. Bookings will be taken from 1st September for the following calendar year.
  8. Bookings may be made for a year with the understanding that the rates are subject to annual review.
  9. Rates for the rooms are applied from the Council fees and charges document and are subject to Council review. Charges are applied from 1st July each year.
  10. All meeting rooms have a minimum one (1) hour hire period with minimum ¼ hourly increments thereafter unless otherwise specified.
  11. Bookings may be made for a year with the understanding that if the booked room is required for a special function, the booking for a group may be moved to an alternative venue.
  12. The Room can be hired from 10am on weekdays, 9.30am on Saturdays, and 2pm on Sundays. The Room must be vacated by 8.45pm weekdays and 4.45pm on weekends.
  13. Set-up time and pack-up time must be incorporated into the hours of hiring. Rooms cannot be entered before the booking time and must be vacated on time.
  14. Bookings must be made at least 3 business days in advance.
  15. Hirers can have a maximum of one booking per week.
  16. No naked flames of any type may be lit or utilised within the venue, including candles or tea lights.
  17. Smoking is not permitted on Library premises, including the Meeting Room.
  18. Eating is permitted in the Meeting Rooms but participants are asked not to eat in other Library areas.
