Study Rooms

Hornsby Central Library is currently undergoing building maintenance and there may be noise associated with this work. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Due to the current location of remediation work, the main meeting room will be intermittently unavailable between 10am and 3pm. During these times meetings will be transferred to the large quiet study room which will therefore be unavailable for private study along with the small study rooms. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Quiet Study Area and Study Rooms will be unavailable on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday 28 March, 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
  • Thursday 2 May, 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Hornsby Library offers study rooms that are available for free, a quiet space you can catch up on your homework or prepare for that big exam.
How many people can the Study Rooms seat?

The largest room seats eight, while two others seat four.

Are bookings necessary?

Yes. Bookings will be taken up to one day before you use the rooms. Phone 9847 6614.

What is the maximum time a Study Room can be used?

Two hours.

Can paid tutoring be carried out in the rooms?

No, paid tutoring cannot be conducted in study rooms or open areas within the library.

Are there other areas to study?

Yes, Hornsby Library also offers a quiet study area with 50 individual desks. Bookings are not required.
