The Bower
Give Your Furniture and White Goods a Second Life with The Bower
Instead of sending good-quality items to landfill through bulky waste collection, why not donate them to a local charity that gives them a new purpose?
The Bower Reuse & Repair Centre is a not-for-profit environmental organisation that accepts donations of quality second-hand furniture and appliances. These items are either resold affordably in their stores or rehomed directly through their House to Home program—providing essential household goods to refugees, people transitioning from homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, and others in need.
Items The Bower is currently seeking:
- Small dining tables and chair sets
- Two seater sofas
- Small chests of drawers and bedside tables
- Washing machines and fridge-freezers (clean and working)
- Small kitchen appliances (e.g. microwaves, toasters)
- Smart TVs with remotes
- Two- and three-seater sofas
Please note: All donated items must be complete, clean, and in full working condition. Items are matched to real client needs, so acceptance depends on current demand.
Ready to donate?
The Bower offers a free collection service for accepted items within the Hornsby LGA. To see if your donation is suitable and book a pick-up, visit The Bower website.
By choosing reuse over disposal, you’re reducing waste and helping someone build a safer, more stable home. Thank you for making a difference.
