Heritage community engagement strategy

The Heritage Community Engagement Strategy will include a review existing best practice heritage community awareness, promotion, engagement and process for the identification of new items within the Hornsby Local Government Area (LGA).

The Heritage Community Engagement Strategy will intend to:

  • Develop ongoing processes for meaningful and ongoing community-engagement with the local community beyond traditional heritage communities; and
  • Increase public awareness of local heritage and Council’s role in the identification, management and protection of heritage within the NSW Planning framework.

The project brief will be informed by the community feedback and issues, and engagement findings from the completed public exhibition of the previous heritage studies carried out under the Comprehensive Heritage Study.

The project is anticipated to commence in late 2023.
