How do we minimise ecological disturbance when establishing an APZ?

Considering that the establishment of sites will create some ecological disturbance, new sites will be established over a longer period to allow each site to adjust. Vegetation removal will prioritise non-native species first with the characteristics of each site an important driver in site establishment. Each site will take five years to reach standards where only ongoing maintenance is required.
