Wisemans Ferry Park
Council have prepared plans for an upgrade to Wisemans Ferry Park. Upgrades include:
- Restoration of tennis courts and BMX track
- Installation of new playground
- Installation of new circuit walking track
- New tree plantings to pathways
- Installation of two park shelters with picnic seating
- Installation of park benches
- New signage throughout the park
- Provision of new amenities
- Revitalisation of lawns impacted by flooding and nearby construction works.
Playground works are proposed for late August – September 2022. With the remainder of works to be staged over late 2022 and 2023.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Hornsby Shire Council.

Update March 2024
Council has now installed a flood marker installation within the playground. The installation marks eight significant floods at Wiseman’s Ferry.
The flood markers are designed to be read from inside the circle. The markers are placed in ascending order and note the year of each flood event.
Additional interpretation signage will be added later in the year.
Update August 2023
Tree planting works are now completed.
Update May 2023
The walking circuit track and Village Green are now open. Please take care while the lawn is establishing.
Tree planting will be installed over winter.
Update April 2023
Earthworks and turf underlay preparation are nearing completion in the Village Green ready for turfing and planting.
Works on the oval circuit path are underway with a third of the pathway completed. Works will continue in May to finalise this path.
Update March 2023
The following works have been undertaken in the first quarter of 2023:
- Earthworks have been conducted on the Village Green to prepare the surfacing for lawns and tree planting. Further topsoil will be installed in the village green area shortly.
- Concrete path works are well under way
- Pedestrian bridge has been installed
- Additional fencing has been installed
- The frame of the picnic shelter has been installed
- Tennis court upgrades are completed
- Additional tree works have been completed
Update December 2022
The new playground is approaching completion. It will be open to the public in late December for the school holidays.
The planting works for the playground will be delayed to March when there are more favourable planting conditions.
Additional seating and fencing will be installed in December.
Stage 2 Village Green pathway works will commence in December connecting the playground to the amenities block.
Update November 2022
Installation of the new amenities block at Wisemans Ferry Recreation Reserve / Boat Ramp is currently approaching completion.
Access paths have now been installed in the new playground. Installation of furniture and play equipment are currently underway.
