Stage 1 Public Domain Upgrades – Asquith to Mt Colah

As part of Stage 1 upgrades between Asquith and Mt Colah, footpaths will be widened to cater for higher levels of use including for wheelchairs and prams, and a section of pedestrian/ cycle sharepath between Willarong Road and Yirra Road will facilitate safe connection to Asquith Park. The upgrades will include street tree and water quality treatment beds, as well as new furniture at rest locations and bus stops.

In the retail area between Willarong Road and Yirra Road, new paving, street trees, seating, a drinking fountain, safety balustrade and bike racks will make the setting more attractive and user-friendly.

Project Updates

Stage 1 of the upgrade commenced at the end of September 2024 and the major work is scheduled to be complete by the end of February 2025.

There is a soft landscaping establishment period of 6 months followed by an 18 month period of maintenance. Both periods include maintaining the garden beds, including pruning, weeding, maintaining mulch cover and fixing any loosened or damaged tree stakes and ties and undertake grass cutting and mowing turf within the works area at Mittabah Road Reserve and between Rupert Street and Jersey Street on the western side of the Highway.
