Safety improvement work at Pacific Highway and College Crescent, Waitara
Transport for NSW is improving pedestrian safety at the intersection of Pacific Highway and College Crescent, Waitara. This work is being completed as part of the Road Safety Program. Work will start from Wednesday 28 May and is expected to be complete by Friday 27 June 2025.
We will be upgrading the traffic signals on Pacific Highway at its intersection with College Crescent, Waitara. These upgrades started in 2024, however one of the posts required additional design due to underground services. We will now complete the final post upgrade and restore the road and footpath surfaces.
Our work will include:
- relocating traffic signal post and footings
- installing new arrow lanterns to allow pedestrians to cross safely while motorists are held on the red arrows
- restoring the road surface and line marking.
We will be onsite for up to six nights between Wednesday 28 May and Friday 27 June, weather and site conditions permitting. Our work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday. We will not work on Fridays, Saturdays, or public holidays. Our work needs to be carried out at night to minimise traffic disruption and reduce safety risks to workers and motorists.
