Hornsby Station Footbridge – Remedial Maintenance

Hornsby Station Footbridge

Hornsby Shire Council is undertaking remedial maintenance of the Hornsby Station Footbridge above George Street. These works will benefit the lifespan of the footbridge.

What will the works involve?

The works involve paint repairs and additional corrosion protection for the steel elements, as well as installation of new down pipes and connections on the canopy. A site compound will be set up in the southern commuter car park to support these works.

How will this affect access?

Access to parts of the southern commuter car park will be restricted during ongoing completion of the works. Hoarding will be installed on the footbridge next to work areas and will move along the length of the footbridge as works progress. The footbridge is expected to remain open for the duration of these works.

When will the works take place?

Works are due to commence on 27 June 2022 and be completed in early August 2022, weather permitting.

Majority of works will be completed Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm, and Saturdays between 8:00am and 4:00pm.

However, it is necessary for works above the road to be completed at night. Separate notification will be provided to those affected prior to commencement of night works.

We thank you for your support.
