Following the announcement by the NSW Government of a housing target of 5,500 new dwellings for Hornsby Shire, Hornsby Shire Council has confirmed its proactive and innovative planning has put it on the front foot to reach its target.

The winner of the Remagine Art Prize 2024 has been announced, with Lane Cove based artist Phoebe Stone taking out the first prize of $5,000 for her oil and pastel painting, Serene Sea. At its General Meeting held yesterday, Hornsby Shire Council adopted a special Mayoral Minute outlining its strong opposition to the NSW Government’s last-minute decision to impose an enormous Emergency Services Levy (ESL) cost increase on councils for 2023/24. By scrapping the ESL subsidy, this will impact Council’s budget by $1.8 million.
