TIPPING POINT

A Sydney Writer’s Festival event

A suicide, a shooting, and a media storm.

Detective Kate Miles returns in Dinuka McKenzie’s latest instalment Tipping Point.

Dinuka raises the stakes in this new release, grappling with ideas of loyalty and friendship and the relentless attention of the press. Join her as she discusses the nuances of the crime genre with fellow crime writer Amy Doak.

Dinuka McKenzie lives and writes on Dharawal land, and is the author of the Detective Kate Miles crime series - The Torrent, Taken and her latest release, Tipping Point - published in Australia and the UK. She is the winner of the 2020 HarperCollins Australia Banjo Prize. Her writing has been shortlisted for the Sisters in Crime Davitt Awards, the Bad Sydney Crime Danger Awards, longlisted for the Richell Prize, and highly commended in the Australian Crime Writers Association, Louie Award.

Amy Doak is a lifelong lover of books, reading and writing. Following a career in media: advertising, radio, television and magazines, she continues to work as a freelance writer and is excited to see her non-fiction writing career evolve into a fiction one. Amy lives in regional Victoria with her husband, teen, tween, dog, and a very grumpy cat.
