Always wanted to write a story, a novel, a memoir, but don’t know where to start?

Then join best-selling author, mentor and literary festival director, Sandie Docker, for this workshop which will give you the tools to turn that idea into a first draft.

This workshop will cover:

  • How to get started and put words on the page
  • The basic building blocks of storytelling
  • To plot or not to plot
  • Gaining the confidence to write well
  • Finding your voice
  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • Tips for building writing into your daily routine
  • What happens when you get stuck?
  • What comes next?

This workshop will not only arm you with information and tips, but will also consist of guided practical writing exercises. It is suitable for writers just starting out on their journey.

This workshop is suitable for participants 16+.

About Sandie

Sandie Docker is an internationally published author of contemporary women’s fiction, known for her heartwarming stories about love, loss, family, and small-town life.

Her novels include The Kookaburra Creek Café, The Cottage at Rosella Cove, The Banksia Bay Beach Shack, The Wattle Island Book Club, The Redgum River Retreat, and The Lyrebird Lake Ladies Choir. Sandie mentors emerging writers, and is also the founder and director of The Northern Beaches Readers Festival.
