This a relatively long walk goes through open forest, woodland, gully rainforest and mangrove communities. We examine the species present, discuss the heritage values of Bobbin Head, the Sphinx and the several Aboriginal sites, as well as park management issues such as fire and pest management. We also have time to admire some great views of Cowan Creek and spend some time at Bobbin Head.

Grade: 4 (challenging) – a long walk with some steep climbs. More information about walk grades
Suitability: Suitable for adults and teens with some bushwalking experience.
Nearest train station: Bus service available to and from Turramurra Railway Station.

Please note:

  • Meeting place details given upon booking confirmation.
  • Mobile reception is unreliable on this event.
  • This is a circular walk returning to the carpark / bus stop on Bobbin Head Road at Nth Turramurra.
  • Park use fees apply if parking inside Ku-ring-gai Chase NP. Free parking is available outside the Park.
  • The estimated time given for this event does not include this travel time.
