Road work on Pennant Hills Road, West Pennant Hills

Transport for NSW will carry out essential road maintenance work on Pennant Hills Road, West Pennant Hills between Tuesday 2 April and Friday 3 May 2024.

The work will involve replacing sections of asphalt and repainting road markings on the northbound and southbound lanes of Pennant Hills Road between Beecroft Road and Lancaster Avenue, West Pennant Hills.

A small section of the concrete median at Cardinal Avenue will be temporarily removed to support contraflow traffic changes required while the resurfacing work is being completed. The median will be reinstated upon completion of the resurfacing work.

Further information on the project location is shown on the map below.

Work schedule

We will be on site for 12 night shifts between Tuesday 2 April and Friday 3 May 2024, weather permitting.

We will work from Sunday to Thursday, between 8pm and 5am the next day. We will not work on Friday or Saturday nights, or on public holidays.

Our work needs to be carried out at night to limit disruption to traffic and reduce safety risks to our workers, pedestrians and motorists.

It may be noisy at times, but we will do everything we can to reduce this by:

  • turning off equipment and vehicles when they are not in use
  • completing the noisier activities before midnight
  • resurfacing progressively along the road to avoid impacting the same area each night.
  • using quieter equipment where possible.

Bus stop changes

While we are resurfacing past Pennant Hills Road bus stops we will need to temporarily relocate the bus drop off and pick up locations.

The temporary bus stops will be relocated as close as possible to the original stops. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist bus users.

Traffic changes

There will be temporary traffic changes to make sure the work zone is safe.

Lane closures, a contraflow traffic arrangement and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place and may affect travel times.

Motorists unable to access properties or side streets within the contraflow are advised to use the next available side street after they exit the contraflow to redirect to their destination.

Pedestrians will not be impacted as traffic controllers will be on site to assist.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs.
