Hornsby Shire Council acknowledges invaluable contribution of local award-winning Geriatrician Professor Susan Kurrle
At its General Meeting held yesterday, Hornsby Shire Council acknowledged the invaluable contribution by local resident Professor Susan Kurrle, MD PhD, who has been working alongside Council in having Hornsby Shire recognised as a Dementia Friendly Community and was recently announced as the recipient of the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA) 2022 Sidney Sax medal. -

Hornsby Art Prize returns with a bumper crop of talent
After two years of lying dormant, 100 unique and original artworks have been shortlisted in Hornsby Shire Council’s 2022 Hornsby Art Prize. The finalist works of Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Digital Art-Stills and 3D Works will be on exhibition at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre and Hornsby Central Library from 19 - 30 October 2022. -

Council encourages residents to take control and download the Get Prepared app to recover faster
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in an emergency. To help prepare, Hornsby Shire Council is encouraging residents stay safe in a disaster or a time of crisis by downloading and completing an emergency plan on the Get Prepared app. Research shows that the more people prepare for a disaster, the faster they recover. -
