Hornsby Shire Council shares plans for community infrastructure improvements

Hornsby Shire Council unveils $27.9 Million first stage for Hornsby Park and progresses plans for Westleigh Park
At its general meeting, Hornsby Shire Council last night took significant steps forward in the delivery of its two major projects at Hornsby and Westleigh Parks. Councillors determined to progress Hornsby Park by delivering an impressive canopy skywalk and cable bridge through the trees in 2024. They also voted to publish the revised draft Westleigh Park Master Plan and place the draft Plan of Management on public exhibition. -

NSW Soft Plastics Crisis Hits Hornsby Shire Council’s Community Recycling Facility
From 27 January 2023, users of Hornsby Shire Council’s Community Recycling Centre (CRC) at Thornleigh will need to demonstrate they reside in the Local Government Area (LGA) by showing a copy of their NSW driver licence or rates notice in order to recycle soft plastics, hard plastics and Styrofoam. Quantity limits for residents of one normal shopping bag full of soft plastics (40cmx40cm bag) per week have also been put into place.
