Get into Hornsby's Westside Vibe

Publish date:

Hornsby’s Westside Vibe returns on Friday 11 May – bigger, brighter and bolder than ever before.

The vibrant street festival brings the area around Hornsby’s Dural Lane to life, overflowing with rhythm, creativity, colour and the flavours of global cuisine.

Hornsby Shire Mayor Philip Ruddock is looking forward to the festival, which last year was one of the most successful events in the Bushland Shire.

“I truly enjoy the diversity and vibrancy of Westside Vibe,” Mayor Ruddock said.

“It is our fourth Westside Vibe and I am excited to see how big this event has become.

“This year we’ve expanded the area of the festival grounds and are bringing even more acts and artists to Hornsby’s Dural Lane.”

Among the highlights of Westside’s live entertainment will be funk bands Bakoomba and Jackie Brown Jr performing alongside four-piece Night Kite, roots band Volky and bucket drummer Gordo.

Just as diverse as the entertainment, Sydney’s best food trucks will feature a variety of delicious street food and pop-up bars, including Mt Kuring-Gai icon Ekim Brewing Co, Fluffy Crunch’s flurrito (aka fairy floss burrito), Eat Art Truck, Tsuru, Nighthawk Diner and much more.

Westside’s kids’ entertainment has also stepped up a notch with many new activities, such as umbrella painting, henna art and hula hoop workshops for the younger visitors to enjoy.

The Lions Club of Hornsby will offer face painting, with all proceeds being donated to Walk Talk Fly - The Jackson Keleher Cerebral Palsy Fund.

Westside Vibe will take place on Friday 11 May at Hornsby’s Dural Lane, from 4pm to 9pm.
