Publish date:

Hornsby Shire Council congratulates local resident Graham Ross on his award in the Australia Day honours that were presented today.

Mr Ross was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his significant services to broadcast media, particularly to horticulture, and to the community.

“We are very pleased to have one of our residents nominated and we congratulate Mr Ross on his honour,” Hornsby Shire Mayor Philip Ruddock said.

“Mr Ross is an upstanding member of our community and he certainly deserves the award.

“He has given so much to the community over the years and it is great to see his achievements recognised.”

Mr Ross has spent more than four decades working in broadcast media, with a particular focus on gardens.

He was excited to receive the award.

“This is a real cherry on the cake to get recognition in our own country and your own community,” Mr Ross said.

“It’s a huge honour, I’m really thrilled.”
