Hornsby Shire Council is excited to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at improving community access to local library items, with a click and collect book locker system now open at Berowra Library.

This state-of-the-art resource will allow locals to borrow library books outside of traditional library hours. Members can now collect items at any time, day or night.

Hornsby Shire Mayor, Philip Ruddock shared his excitement about the new addition to Berowra Library.

“Our libraries are incredibly valuable to Shire residents. This initiative provides the community with greater access to literature and other resources. We are proud to see this concept come to life in Berowra,” said Mayor Ruddock.

“At a time when living costs are continuing to rise, there has never been a better time to sign up as a library member and enjoy the wide range of resources on offer, 24 hours a day. This has been designed to be a user-friendly, seamless experience.”

Members can simply reserve their books and items through the library catalogue, before selecting the Berowra book locker as the pick-up location. Residents will then receive a text message and email when the items are ready to be collected, with five days given to pick-up their items from the locker.
