Apartment Living Program

Do you live in an apartment and would like to improve recycling in your building? More than 20 percent of Hornsby Shire residents live in apartment buildings which generally have lower rates of recycling than single dwellings.

Council has developed the ‘Apartment Living Program’ to assist residents with making improvements to the quality and quantity of recycling collected in their apartment. This free service includes a bin inspection and assessment, free signage and bin stickers, information packs and letters for residents, and more. Building/strata managers, owner’s corporations or residents can nominate their building to be part of this new program. Improving recycling in apartment buildings

Council has developed the Apartment Living Recycling Program to assist residents of apartment buildings to improve the quantity, and quality of recycling collected.

Shared bins

Residents in apartment buildings place their waste and recycling in shared bins which are emptied by Council’s contractors. In most cases, you will not need to place your bins on the kerb for collection as this is done by your Strata or by Council’s contractors.
