Hornsby Shire covers approximately 510 square kilometers, including 6,000 hectares of public bushland for which Council is responsible.
The shire extends from Brooklyn in the north, to Wisemans Ferry and Glenorie/Dural in the West, Wahroonga in the east.

If you want to lead an active lifestyle then there are many options for you, from the Hornsby Mountain Bike Trail that draws cyclists from all around the state, to road-side tracks, BMX facilities and skate parks.

Waterways

Sitting on Hornsby Shire’s northern border is the picturesque Hawkesbury River, dotted with plenty of waterside towns that are perfect to visit for a day out filled with swimming, fishing and boating.
