Make A Play! 5 Day Workshop - K-3

In this exciting 5-day workshop, students will collaborate with fellow young people and an industry Teaching Artist to create a brand-new play from scratch, culminating in a performance for friends and family on Friday.

Throughout the week, participants will develop a range of theatre-making and performance skills. They will strengthen their acting abilities by learning to listen, react, and respond to given circumstances, while exploring character creation through backstory, voice, and movement. Students will discover the fundamentals of storytelling, including story structure and narrative development, and gain an understanding of stagecraft by building spatial awareness and confidence on stage.

The workshop also focuses on collaboration and teamwork, encouraging participants to work as an ensemble, support one another, and contribute their ideas to the creative process. Students will further develop their vocal skills through projection, diction, and clarity exercises, while exploring movement and physicality to bring characters and stories to life. Most importantly, they will build confidence in performance by sharing their work in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.
