Rapid Reads

Our Rapid Reads are a great way to read the latest bestselling titles, without having to wait weeks on a reservation queue. This collection offers extra copies of high demand titles and are available for walk-in customers only. These items are available for a 10 day loan period, making for a quick turnaround. Browse the shelves at each location and pick up a great read that you can’t put down!

Please note the overdue fees for these items are $1 per day.

You will find the Quick Choice collection at each library with a range of categories to choose from. Items in each category are also displayed on the online catalogue.

Deciding which book to read next can be a daunting task, but we are here to make it easier for you. Answer a few easy questions about what you do (and don't!) like to read, and our team of expert readers will create a list of reading suggestions especially for you.

Online Resources

If you are looking for more ideas, Novelist Plus will help you find a book that appeals to you. All you need is your library membership number and password to log in and start browsing.

Book Clubs

If you want to combine your love of reading with a chance to socialise, why not join one of our book clubs. With titles ranging from new releases to classics, fiction and non-fiction, you are sure to find something that sparks an interesting and lively discussion among your book-loving friends.

Items on order or recently added to the collection are listed on the online catalogue.

Search our catalogue

If you’re looking for something specific you can search our catalogue online or through the Hornsby Shire Libraries App. The app is free to download from the App Store (for Apple iOS devices) and the Google Play Store (for Android Devices). It is a quick and convenient way to search the library catalogue, access your account and more.

Request items not held

If none of Hornsby Shire’s libraries has the item you’re looking for, you can suggest that we buy it or borrow it from another library service.

More information about this service including fees and charges is on the online catalogue.

To use this service you will need to have a Hornsby Shire library membership number and your password.
