  • Project typeFootpath improvements

Hornsby Shire Council recognises walking as an important recreational and social activity for all residents, regardless of age or ability. Council is committed to improving walking facilities within the Local Government Area (LGA) of Hornby. To deliver on this, it is proposed for new footpaths to be constructed within the LGA in accordance with the adopted Hornsby Shire Council 2024-2027 Delivery Program including the Operational Plan 2025/26 and the Walking and Cycling Strategy.

New footpaths are proposed for following locations in the 2025/26 financial year.

  • Kywong Road, Berowra (Yallambee Road to Redwood Ave)
  • Yallambee Road, Berowra (Yallambee Road to Kywong Road)
  • Purchase Road, Cherrybrook (Beechwood Parade to Kentia Parade)
  • Ida Street, Hornsby (Sutton Street to school (East side))
  • Bellamy Street, Pennant Hills (Stevens Street to end (north))
  • Willowtree Road, Normanhurst (Calga Avenue to Pine Place)

Works typically include construction of concrete footpath and kerb ramps. Please note repair of driveways or construction of new driveways are not typically included in the scope of works. Please refer to Council’s webpage for Vehicular Crossing for further information on the process of constructing a driveway.

Final approval for these works will be dependent on the availability of funds, community responses and any change of project priorities.
