Dangar Island with boat on water

Dangar Island is one of Sydney’s most unique communities. Rich in history with spectacular views of the Hawkesbury River, Dangar is home to around 300 people.

Originally from the UK, Ann Howard is a prize winning local history author, artist and teacher who has lived on Dangar Island for over 50 years where she raised 3 sons after her husband died suddenly. She restored and still lives in the heritage listed property ‘The Pavilion’ which is the only remaining part of the original Dangar House.

Following a screening of her short film River Woman, she will be speaking about her property and the changes she has experienced during her life on Dangar Island.
