Are you ready to unlock your creativity and start writing captivating, bite-sized stories?

Join prize-winning author and co-host of the Not Quite Write Podcast, Amanda Scotland, for an inspiring introduction to the world of flash and micro fiction.

Participants will learn the unique structural features of flash and micro fiction as distinct from other types of fiction, and touch on some of the specific skills required to write compelling very short stories. Participants will also discover opportunities to further develop their flash fiction writing skills, plus ways to earn money through flash fiction writing.

Participants will start writing a piece of flash fiction during the workshop, and leave feeling empowered to finish and submit their stories.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between flash, micro and other forms of short fiction
  • Identify opportunities to write and submit flash fiction
  • Start writing flash fiction!

What to bring:

  • Pen and paper or preferred electronic device for writing and notetaking
  • A sample of your own flash or microfiction (optional).

Ages 16+ . No experience required.
