A four week program for young scientists aged 6 to 8 years presented by the Children’s Discovery Museum. Participants will be able to learn and explore themes from different branches of science through numerous practical experiments.

Session 1: All About Plants

Monday 2 March, 4pm-5pm
Explore the fascinating world of plants as you create a leaf rubbing, press flowers and leaves, and design a growth experiment to continue at home.

Session 2: Magic Magnets

Monday 9 March, 4pm-5pm
We discover what things are magnetic and how two magnets interact with each other. Create a temporary magnet and build your own magnetic fishing game to take home.

Session 3: Tricks of the Eye

Monday 16 March, 4pm-5pm
Blink and you’ll miss this intriguing workshop exploring visual illusions and how we view the world, and make a thaumatrope to take home.

Session 4: Science of Sherbet

Monday 23 March, 4pm-5pm
Explore the sometimes explosive effects of acid-base reactions to discover how sherbet tingles your tongue, and make your own to take home.

Ages: Strictly 6-8 years. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
