A series of interactive science programs presented by the Children’s Discovery Museum. Children will develop ideas and skills that will inspire further scientific exploration, discovery and learning.
The Junior Science Club
A four week program aimed for 6 to 8 years young scientists presented by the Children’s Discovery Museum. Participants will be able to learn and explore themes from different branches of science through numerous practical experiments
Session 1: Marble Run
Challenge yourself in our marble-ous marble run, using household items and recycled materials to race your marble against the clock.
Monday 21 November, 4.30-5.30
Session 2: Sounds of Silence
Lend your ears to the exploration of sound through a series of hands (and ears) on sound experiments and make your own sound maker (kazoo) to take home.
Monday 28 November, 4.30-5.30
Session 3: Animal Superheroes
Smell like an elephant, see like an eagle, and jump like a flea in this ‘super’ workshop, investigating the superheroes of the animal kingdom and their adaptations (superpowers)!
Monday 5 December, 4.30-5.30
Session 4: Our Amazing Bodies
Put your body to the test through a series of fun, but challenging activities that explore the seven senses and your melon to examine the efficacy of helmets.
Monday 12 December, 4.30-5.30
Location: Hornsby Library, 28-44 George Street, Hornsby
Ages: Strictly 6-8 years. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
