Distance: 6.3km
Grade: 4 - More information about walk grades

This walk circumnavigates the ridge at the northern end of Westleigh and is a walk of extremes! On the eastern side we pass through moist sheltered forest with massive tall bue gums and fern-clad understory. We then switch to the dry exposed woodland on the western side where fire-adapted plants thrive on the sandstone slopes.

Please note: this is a Grade 4 walk (medium/hard). It may contain steeper, rougher terrain or a longer distance along defined tracks without major modification to the ground. It may involve short sections of rock scrambling and is suitable for walkers with a moderate level of fitness over 16 years of age. Hornsby train station is 2km from the meeting point of this event (via the Heritage Steps connecting Quarry Road and Rosemead Road, Hornsby).
