This 3 hour (5 km) bushwalk follows an ancient travel route from the heights of Mount Kuring-gai down to the tranquil waters of Cowan Creek. A great walk for wildflowers, we'll also observe evidence of past Aboriginal and colonial occupation along the foreshore. After stopping at Appletree Bay for a cup of coffee (if the kiosk is open!), we then head up the steep rugged slope back to the start.

Walk Grade: 4 (challenging) - sections of trail are hilly, steep and rough. More information about walk grades
Suitability of walk: Adults with some bushwalking experience and a high level of fitness. Not suitable for children.
Nearest train station to meeting point: Mount Kuring-Gai station is a 2 minute (130 m) walk.
Please note: Mobile reception is unreliable on this event.

Please note: These events are provided for Hornsby Shire residents only. Bookings are essential and open a month before each event. To cancel a booking, please email bushland@hornsby.nsw.gov.au as soon as possible so we can inform those on the waitlist.
