The NSW Government is carrying out this routine work as part of ongoing maintenance of the State bridges.
Transport for NSW will carry out cable repairs on Peats Ferry Bridge and Hawkesbury River Bridge, Brooklyn and Mooney Mooney. This work will take place during the day, under the bridge and will not have any traffic or pedestrian impacts.
Since 2017, Transport for NSW has been carrying out maintenance work on Peats Ferry Bridge and Hawkesbury River Bridge.
We have completed the following work on Peats Ferry Bridge:
- repairs to the underside of the bridge
- installation of new traffic barriers
- replacement of the footpath handrail.
On Hawkesbury River Bridge we have completed:
- installation of underground concrete piles
- concrete repairs to the support structures of the bridge.
We will be on site for 68 day shifts between Monday 4 January and Wednesday 31 March, weather permitting.
Our work hours will be between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday.
There is still further work to be completed on Peats Ferry Bridge. Further updates will be provided to the community prior to restarting work.
How will the work affect you?
Our cable repair work will take during the day and from underneath the bridge. Our work will not have any traffic or pedestrian impacts. We do not expect this work to be noisy.
We will use the existing site compound at the northern end of the Hawkesbury River Bridge for the cable repair work. After we finish our work, we will remove the site compound and restore the area.
The existing site compounds at, Kangaroo Point, on the road island between the M1 Pacific Highway and Old Pacific Highway and near the Mooney Mooney Chapel, will be demobilised by early February. All areas will be restored.
