Routine maintenance continuing on the M1 Pacific Motorway

Roads and Maritime Services is carrying out routine maintenance on sections of the rock wall along the M1 Pacific Motorway.

Work will continue on the rock wall next to the southbound lanes near Brooklyn. Once this is complete work will commence on the rock wall next to the northbound lane near Cowan.

Our maintenance work aims to:

  • increase safety
  • provide consistent driving conditions
  • reduce maintenance costs.

Work schedule

RMS will be on site for 35 days and 127 night shifts until mid 2020, weather permitting.
Work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Friday.

How will the work affect you?

Work may be noisy at times but will do everything we can to minimise its impact, including completing the noisier tasks by 11pm.

Traffic changes

There will be temporary traffic changes during our work hours to ensure the work zone is safe. We will close two lanes adjacent to the rock wall along the M1 Pacific Motorway during our night shifts. To reduce impact to motorists, the first lane will be closed at 8pm and the second lane will be closed at 9pm. A reduced speed limit of 40km per hour will be in place.

Please keep to speed limits and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
