Phone enquiries are available until 5pm, except for Friday, 22 December when telephone enquiries will close at 11.30am.

Council’s Customer Service Desk will re-open for business for face-to-face enquiries on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

  • To report a missed bin collection please call the waste hotline on 13 70 30 and follow the prompts.
  • For a bin repair and all other non-urgent matters please call the waste hotline on 13 70 30 and follow the prompts to leave a message and we will return your call on return to the office Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

Collection Services

• There will be NO CHANGES to collection days during the holiday period.
• Collection services occurring on Public Holidays will commence from 4am.
• The collection times may differ over this period so please ensure all bins are placed out the evening prior to your collection day.

Thornleigh Community Recycling Centre

Closed from mid-day (12pm) Saturday, 23 December 2023 until Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

On reopening, there is high demand causing long queues and delays at the CRC. Traffic management will be in place, particularly during first two weeks of the new year.

To avoid a long wait, sort your waste before you visit, consider postponing your visit to later in January, and ensure you follow traffic instructions.

Now Open: Mount Kuring-gai Household Recycling Drop Off

Have you got excess household recycling after the holidays? The new Household Recycling Drop Off centre is now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 5 Beaumont Road, Mount Kuring-gai.

Drop by to recycle household mixed recycling, flattened cardboard, and eligible Return and Earn containers.

Please note this service is for household waste only.
