Temporary Full Time (3 years)

Full time temporary up to 3 years - Strategic Planner Contributions 

Salary: $101,073 to $112,807 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and a nine day fortnight.  A part time temporary arrangement will also be considered for the right candidate!

Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

Are you an enthusiastic, pro-active and results orientated person?  In your new temporary role, you will be involved in reviewing and updating Council's Development Contributions Plans.

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

In your new temporary role you will develop and be accountable for project plans, infrastructure schedules, documentation and reports to ensure the delivery of updated Section 7.11 and Section 7.12 Contributions Plans. 

This role has 4 major components;

  • Supervise and project manage the review of Council’s Section 7.11 Development Contributions Plan and Section 7.12 Contributions Plans including works schedules
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure Council’s infrastructure needs, financial responsibilities and strategic priorities are balanced in the development of updated works schedules
  • Develop procedures in relation to Planning Agreements
  • Sign Planning Certificates prepared in accordance with Section 10.7 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979

About you

We are seeking a pro-active, enthusiastic person who has the ability to problem solve as well as build relationships across Council.  An understanding of the development contributions framework and relevant legislation is required.  A commitment to good quality customer service and consultation with government authorities, applicants and the public is required to ensure that Council meets the needs and expectations of the community.  The ability to work independently and within a team environment is critical to the success of this role.
