Welcome to Hornsby Shire Council’s E Tendering Webpage

Council frequently issues Tenders, Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) for the supply of goods and services.

Council calls for tenders when the anticipated cost of the requirements exceeds $135,000 (excluding GST). The objective of issuing Tenders, RFQ’s and EOI’s is to provide value for money over the life of the required goods and services.

Council business may also be awarded by other Government entities such as Northern Sydney Region of Councils (NSROC) or via a contract in place with Local Government Procurement or the NSW Department of Commerce.

This website has been established to provide Council suppliers, contractors and other interested businesses easy access to a range of Tendering, RFQ’s and EOI’s opportunities available via E Tendering. The E tendering process available from this website will improve the speed and efficiency associated with the Tendering/RFQ/EOI process for Council and it’s suppliers.

Using this website will allow companies to:

  • Register their details and establish profiles to automatically receive relevant Tenders, RFQ’s and EOI’s as they become available.
  • View tenders online and/or receive them via email notification.
  • Download tender documentation directly from the website.
  • Post requests for further information or seek clarification on aspects of a tender directly to the website and receive replies back via email notification.
  • Receive addendums and other information issued on current tenders.
  • Respond to tenders via the Electronic Tender Box (rather than having to travel or mail tenders to Council’s Office to lodge responses) however this option will still be available if required.

Hornsby Shire Council invites interested companies to bid for the supply of goods and/or services contained in the Tenders, RFQ or EOI advertised in this website.

If you are interested in any Tender, RFQ or EOI opportunities please refer to the scrolling message at the top of this Home Page. By selecting the relevant advertisement your company can view further information on the Tender, RFQ or EOI and if required, download the documents.

There is no cost for downloading tender documentation. however there are charges for CD and hard copy documentation. To make a payment for tender documents on disk or hard copy as well as make a payment for a tender deposit (if requested in the tender documents), please use this link website address Tender Payments’.

Contractors and volunteers are obliged to comply with the requirements of Council’s alcohol and other drugs determination and procedures as outlined in the pdf Contractor/Volunteer Responsibilities brochure detailed (278Kb). Council also expects Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers to comply with The pdf Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers - Code of Conduct (51Kb).

Companies responding to construction type tenders should also note pdf Practice Note No8 (210Kb) which outlines the range of measures, known as the Code of Tendering and the Code of Practice for the Construction Industry. These were developed by the NSW Government to optimise relationships between government bodies and the construction industry to overcome potential illegal activities and guard against questionable practices. The Codes apply to all government building, construction, maintenance and material supply contracts, consultant commissions and government funded projects and sites within the construction industry in New South Wales. These codes are part of Council’s Conditions of Tendering for these types of works.
