Neighbourhood areas
If you are experiencing problems with a neighbour dumping waste outside the front of their home, please try to discuss the problem with them first.
If you cannot resolve the problem by speaking to your neighbour, phone Council's Waste Hotline on (02) 9847 4856 and we will endeavour to assist in resolving the problem.
Remember: placing your kerbside rubbish out too early before your kerbside clean-up is considered illegally dumping.
Using rubbish removal contractors
Did you know that both the owner of the waste and the transporter of the waste are legally responsible for proving the waste was transported to a lawful place?
If someone is transporting waste on your behalf, make sure you keep records such as:
- who transported the waste (company name, ABN, vehicle registration and driver details, date and time, description of waste
- where the waste was transported to (name and address of the contract person and place)
- copies of dockets/ receipts for disposal of the waste (date and time of delivery, description of waste)
