Why does Council inspect food businesses?
The review of food businesses aims to encourage food operators to take responsibility for the correct operation of their business in line with the Food Safety Standards and other legislation. Inspections also aim to:- Protect and improve the health and safety of the community within the Shire.
- Reduce the potential for contaminants in food production and supply.
- Increase and improve the awareness of food safety practices within all food businesses in the Shire.
