Fire permits
To undertake open burning in Hornsby Shire or to clear bushland to build a fire break, there are a number of permits you may require.
To help residents with questions about fire-related issues, Council, in conjunction with the Rural Fire Service, has set up a single point of call.
Call Council's Environment Divison Customer Service Unit on (02) 9847 6853 for advice, information, and to apply for a fire permit. Council will help guide you through the approval process and liaise with the the Rural Fire Service on your behalf.
