Draft Design - Cherrybrook Skate Park Upgrade

The new Cherrybrook skatepark extension is designed to integrate the existing facility within its surroundings by utilising colour, design and a more amenable spectator space. The new skatepark elements will feature some new upgrades to the exisiting bowl to allow better use by bikes and skateboards. External to the existing facility there are some street/public plaza elements that will also be friendly for beginner and intermediate riders and a more advanced bowl design that has been warmly received and championed by the local riders.

The bowl design is based on one of the most famous backyard pools that the Dog Town and Z Boys used to ride - the Gonzales pool. It will have tiles and proper pool coping. The street elements have a selection of ledges, manual pads, flat bars, kickers, wall rides and banks. The existing bowl upgrade has a spine, hips, jersey barrier and sub boxes.
