Hornsby Mountain Bike Trail
Hornsby Shire Council is planning to build a six kilometre network of mountain bike trails in Hornsby.
When completed, the facility will include a range of tracks to meet the needs of different user groups, from families with children who are mountain biking for the first time through to experienced riders.
The facility will be built in several stages:
- Stage 1 - a 2.5 kilometre cross country trail behind Hornsby Park and adjacent to Quarry Road. Construction is expected to commence late 2011 and be open for use early 2012.
- Stage 2 - a 3 kilometre Old Mans Valley cross country trail that links with stage 1. Construction is expected to commence in 2012, subject to Council’s adoption of a Plan of Management for Old Mans Valley.
- Stage 3 - a small pocket park in Old Mans Valley with a skills circuit, pump track and jump runs. This will be built as a final stage subject to funding (including grant applications).
