2011 Hornsby Art Prize
The Hornsby Art Prize is a major annual arts event sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society and other local organisations.
Hornsby Art Prize exhibition is now open
The 2011 Hornsby Art Prize exhibition is now open at the Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre, Shepherds Lane, Cherrybrook. This year's exhibition features more than 200 outstanding works of art.
The exhibition is open:
- Tuesday 22 November, 2pm-7pm
- Wednesday 23 November, 10am-7pm
- Thursday 24 November, 10am-7pm
- Friday 25 November, 10am-7pm
- Saturday 26 November, 10am-9pm
- Sunday 27 November, 10am-4pm
Location: Cherrybrook Community and Cultural Centre is located on Shepherds Lane, Cherrybook.
Artist talks: A series of 16 free artist talks is also taking place in conjunction with the exhibition.
Hornsby Art Prize Awards Night: Saturday 26 November from 6pm, with the award ceremony commencing at 7pm

About the Hornsby Art Prize
It has a rapidly growing profile of excellence amongst local government art awards. Artists of diverse ages, backgrounds and artistic styles from all over Australia are encouraged to enter.

About the prizes
The artist winning the major prize will be awarded $5,000 cash and the winning work will be acquired into the Hornsby Shire Council Art Collection. The total prize pool exceeds $16,000 worth of cash, scholarships, art materials, memberships and subscriptions for artists.

- One prize valued at $6,625 comprising $5000 cash, $1,300 Art Scene West Ryde scholarship, $200 Chroma Australia merchandise certificate, Art Almanac annual subscription, membership to the Hornsby Art Society
Painting
- 1st prize - $925 comprising $500 cash, $300 Chroma Australia merchandise certificate, Art Almanac annual subscription, membership to the Hornsby Art Society
- 2nd prize - $425 comprising $200 cash, $100 S&S Creativity merchandise certificate, Art Almanac annual subscription, membership to the Hornsby Art Society
