Local Environment Plan 1994
The Hornsby Shire Local Environmental Plan (HSLEP) 1994 commenced on 22 July 1994. The HSLEP divides the Shire into eight zoning classifications:

Each of the Zoning classifications is divided into sub-zones which specify the land uses which are permissible. For example, the residential areas are zoned Low, Medium, Medium-High and High Density which distinguishes the different intensity of development permissible.

Amendments
