National Youth Week
Each year in April, held at the same time around Australia is National Youth Week.
Local Council’s apply for funds which allow them to involve young people in the planning, organisation, participation and evaluation of events, forums, workshops, festivals etc.
Funding is provided by the NSW Government, Communities NSW. It is a week full of excitement and energy displaying many local talents and initiatives by young people for young people.
Hornsby Shire Council operates the funds it receives as a grant process. That is, services can apply for a small or larger grant to run in partnership with Council or other services or on there own if they so wish.
This allows for increased diversity and numbers of projects hat can be held during the week that is designated National Youth Week.
