About Membership
How to Join
- Membership is free and available to everyone
- Simply fill out a membership form and show proof of your name and current address
- If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign your membership form
- A library card will be issued on the spot and you may start borrowing immediately
You may print the Membership Form (52 KB), complete it and bring it to the library on your next visit
How to Use Your Card
- Your card can be used at all Hornsby Shire Libraries
- You must have your card with you to borrow from the library, to renew and reserve items on the web
Lost Cards
- Please contact the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen
- You are responsible for all items borrowed on your card
- There is a $4.50 charge for replacing a lost card
What Can You Borrow
- You can borrow up to 20 items
- There are limits on some materials
Loan Periods
- Most items can be borrowed for 28 days
- DVDs and magazines can be borrowed for 14 days
- Fees are charged for items returned after the due date
How to Renew Items
- Online
- Over the phone or in person at any branch
Renewals can be made if:
- You have not exceeded the renewals allowed for the item
- The item is not reserved for another borrower
- The item is not excessively overdue
To renew any items obtained by interlibrary loan, please contact your nearest Hornsby Shire Library.
