Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge is open to children in years K-9. The challenge is:
- for K-2 students to read 30 books in one year
- for student at all other levels to read 20 books in one year
Additionally, K-2 students who can independently read simple chapter books are encouraged to attempt the 3-4 challenge.
For K-2, 25 books must be from the Challenge list. For the other levels 15 books must be from the Challenge list.

Find our Premier's Reading Challenge books
You can search our online catalogue to find Premier's Reading Challenge books held in the Hornsby Library collection. To find these books:
- go to keyword search
- in the Search field, type one of the following search strings, according to the level of books that you want to look at:
reading challenge k-2
reading challenge 3-4
reading challenge 5-6
reading challenge 7-8
- click the Search button to display the Premier's Reading Challenge books for your chosen level.
Alternatively, you can:
- find the title of a book that interests you on the Premier’s Reading Challenge website
- go to Exact Title Search
- type the title of the book in the Search field
- click the Search button to display details of the book.
Note: all branch libraries hold printed lists of the titles available at their locations.
