Joining the library

  • To join the library just fill out a membership form, you may print this Membership Form (52 KB), complete it and bring it to the library on your next visit. Remember to get your Mum, Dad or Guardian to sign it.
  • Bring the form in to any library with proof of where you live (this can be in your parent's name if you don't have anything with your address on it).


Using your Library Card


Borrowing

  • You can borrow up to 20 items.
  • You can keep books, CDs and CD-ROMs for 28 days.  DVDs, and magazines can be kept for 14 days.
  • If you need to keep your items longer you can renew them. You can do this online, by phoning the library, or by visiting a library.
  • You can only renew your books if no-one is waiting to borrow them, and you have not exceeded the number of times you can renew the item.


Late fines

  • If you bring your books back after the due date you will have to pay a fine.


Lost cards

  • Keep your card in a safe place.
  • If you lose it you will have to pay $4.50 for a new one!
  • If you lose your card tell us right away.  We will make a note in the computer so that no-one can use it.


How to find what you want in the library

  • Use the library catalogue.
  • Search for the name of the book, the author, or the subject you need.
  • Ask the library staff.
  • Come to the desk and ask library staff to help you find the information you need.
