Literacy

Resources for Adults

The Literacy Collection contains resources for adults learning to read and for those learning to speak English. The Literacy Collection is held at Hornsby Library.

Literacy items may also be requested, and picked up, at any Hornsby Shire library.

The Literacy collection consists of:

  • Graded readers:
    • available at different reading levels
    • includes readers with accompanying audio tapes, produced at varying reading speeds
    • includes simplified and abridged versions of popular fiction and non-fiction titles.
  • Book and tape kits
    • designed to improve reading, speaking, writing and listening skills.
